St. John Fisher mens’ basketball began their season on Nov. 8th in a matchup against Hobart College. After an intense back and forth, Hobart pulled ahead for a 85-81 victory. Fisher took an early 15-10 lead in the first few minutes of the game due to layups by graduate student Daniel Cook and junior Connor “Big Cozy” Williams. However, Hobart made a comeback to take the half 46-37. After a tough fight, the Cardinals were not able to regain their momentum.
On Nov. 9th, the St. John Fisher womens’ volleyball team hosted the no. 5 seeded Alfred University in the Empire 8 semi-final championship. Despite a strong lead, Fisher lost 1-3. This was the team’s first loss to a conference opponent since 2018. In the last match of the season, freshman Kaylene Noble had 15 kills and 11 digs, and senior Delayne Young trailed with 11 kills and 16 digs of her own. Sophomore Reilly Morrow had seven kills and 42 assists.
