Winter Break is right around the corner and so is Christmas itself. If you’re looking for gifts, here’s a few recommendations.

The Yakuza Franchise (Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, PS5, Xbox One X)

If you’re looking for accessible and story rich action games, then Yakuza is a great place to spend either as little or as much time as you want! Games full of story, character, charm, and most of all — content. If you’re looking to play these games you’re definitely into action games or at the very least caught by the memes, so for whatever reason, Yakuza is a great gift and fittingly enough, some of the games take place in December! Aside from the most recent title: Yakuza: Like a Dragon, all of the games are 20$.

BlazBlue Central Fiction (PC)
If you’re looking to grab a few friends for a bit more hardcore fighting game action with, new, rollback netcode, grab BlazBlue Central Fiction for PC. Guilty Gear is the bigger brother franchise but BlazBlue deserves just as much spotlight as any other anime fighter. So now that BlazBlue is back in the spotlight and coming in swinging with a brand new and better netcode, it’s a better time than ever to jump in with a few friends. At the time of writing this, there’s still a sale going on with it.

Celeste ( PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch)

If you’re looking to climb a mountain and do some soul searching, by all means, give the platformer Celeste a try. A game that welcomes all and asks you to keep on trying despite you falling flat on your face. Failure is a part of life and dying is a part of the gaming experience, so take all the time you need to experience Celeste.

Deltarune Chapter 1 and 2 (PC, Switch)
Looking for a charming RPG experience for completely free? Try out Deltarune and envelope yourself in the Dark world meeting a whole cast of colorful characters, dialogue full of life, and a game asking you to interact with it as a whole. 2 chapters, completely free “demo” that’s really easy to get into.

Gunfire Reborn (PC)
Looking to play some nice rouge-likes over break? Do you want to play an FPS rouge-like with character building and a whole slew of guns to learn and play with? Give the recently completed Gunfire Reborn a try with some friends and start some runs! Making builds and finding who you enjoy playing as will come in due time, along with any rogue-like.
