This week opened with a mens’ soccer game against rival Nazareth University on Oct. 25. Despite Nazareth out-shooting Fisher 15-10, the Cardinals secured their victory in the 52nd minute with a header by Riley Rease, assisted by Matt Gentile. With this game, Fisher finished the conference play with a 5-0-3 record, securing a bye week into the second round of the tournament.
On Oct. 27, womens’ volleyball hosted Utica University. Fisher quickly shut out Utica with a 3-0 win for the Cardinals. This victory brought the Cardinals to a 16-8 overall record and a 7-0 conference record. Reilley Morrow helped set up the offense with 41 assists, allowing 14 kills for Kaylene Noble and 12 for Delayne Young.
Saturday, Oct. 28 marked the last home games for women’s volleyball in the regular season. The first match was against fellow E8 competitor, Keuka College; the Cardinals won 3-0. The second game was against Misericordia University and sadly brought the team’s 13-game win streak to an end with a tough loss of 2-3.
Fisher Athletics continued its momentum with the last Football home game of the season against Alfred University. The Cardinals were quick to take the lead earning a 30-12 win over the Saxons, moving Fisher to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference. During this game, junior Peyton Nolan surpassed the 1,000 rushing-yard mark in a single season.
